Bonnell E-Motorcyles
Bonnell E-Motorcyles - heavy duty power.
The question with Bonnell's 775 MX usually isn't which model, there's only one, it's whether a hybrid actually suits how you ride. The answer is in the build: low-power pedal-assist mode for trail riding like an e-MTB, full e-moto mode when you want the 6,000W motor and 280Nm of torque doing the work instead of your legs. It's built on a 4130 chromoly front triangle with 6061 forged aluminium chainstays, running a Suntour Rux 38 RC+ fork and Suntour Voro Coil rear shock for 200mm of front travel and 170mm rear. At 34kg it's the lightest bike in PedL's e-motorcycle range, which matters if you're loading it into a car boot or a ute tray between rides, not just on the trail. Three sizes and four colours are available, so if sizing has been the thing holding you back, that's already solved.
What is Bonnell?
An off-road hybrid e-MTB/e-moto brand, with one model currently listed on PedL: the 775 MX.
Who's it for?
Weekend warriors and seasoned shredders alike, per Bonnell's own description, meaning it's built to suit both casual and experienced off-road riders.
What if I'm not sure a hybrid is right for me?
Ride it as a low-power e-MTB while you're finding your feet, then switch to full e-moto power once you want more. You're not locked into one riding style by buying it.
How does it compare to Yozma or Rerode on power?
It's the heaviest-duty machine of the three brands by motor output (6,000W versus Yozma's 2,600 to 5,500W and Rerode's 10 to 17kW), and the only one PedL currently documents with full geometry diagrams and component breakdowns, worth a look if you want to see exactly what you're buying before committing.
