Road Safety Course
You wouldn’t let your child—or anyone—get behind the wheel of a car without doing a learner’s course.
So why would riding an e-bike on the same roads be any different?
E-bikes are powerful. They’re fast. And they’re sharing lanes with cars, trucks, buses, and pedestrians. Yet every day in Australia, more and more young riders are hitting the road without any training, guidance, or understanding of the risks.
That’s why Pedl offers the E-Bike Safety Australia Course—a structured, practical, and age-appropriate program that teaches riders how to stay safe, visible, and in control.
The Stats Are Clear
-
In 2023 alone, over 1,200 serious e-bike-related injuries were reported across Australia.
-
A growing number of these involved teenagers or first-time riders.
-
Most accidents occur in urban areas, ati ntersections, or when riders fail to give way or signal.
E-bikes are not toys—they're vehicles. Riders must know the rules, understand how to handle traffic, and ride responsibly.
What the Course Covers:
Developed by experts in traffic safety and e-mobility, this course includes:
-
How to ride safely in traffic and shared zones
-
The most common mistakes riders make—and how to avoid them
-
Legal road rules and penalties (e.g. helmet laws, speed limits)
-
How to be seen, predictable, and alert
-
Emergency braking, safe overtaking, signaling, and hazard awareness
-
Real-life crash examples and how they could have been avoided
Peace of Mind for Parents
The course is just $159—a small price to pay for the safety of your child or peace of mind knowing they’ve been trained properly. You wouldn’t send them into traffic in a car without training. Why should a 25kg e-bike capable of 25-40km/h be any different?
